  • How to get here and parking

    By car
We are situated just minutes from the M6 (follow the brown signs for Astley Hall and Park), M61 and M65 motorways.

There will be three free car parks dedicated for the flower show, which are:
    • A free park and ride at Botany Bay – this is situated on J8 of the M61 and will be clearly signposted. Buses will run from 9am at intervals of up to every 15 minutes. If you are travelling to the show by car from that side of Chorley or the M61 we would recommend that you park here.

    • Westway playing fields – we will be opening up this as a car park that will provide more than 600 spaces. It will be clearly signposted as you get close to Astley Park. The playing fields are roughly a 400m walk from the show – although it may seem further away as you have to access it from Westway it is the closest car park to the show.

    • Woodlands – the college on Southport Road will be open for parking and you can access the show by foot at the Ackhurst Lodge entrance to the park.

    • Town centre – there are several car parks in the town centre allowing you to access the show by foot from the Park Road entrance to the park. You can also catch the number 2 bus from the bus station or Union Street bus stop, which will take you to the Hallgate entrance.

Hallgate car park will be closed to the general public with blue badge parking only for the show. If this gets full we will have a drop-off point on Hallgate car park but the car will need to be parked on one of the other car parks. The drop-off point can be used by other people wanting to drop off at the show. Please do not park on residential roads in Astley Village.

    By bus
The 109A service links Chorley and Preston and calls at Chancery Road, in Astley Village, which is the Hallgate entrance to the show. It also picks up and drops off close to the Woodlands car park. You can view the timetable here. https://tiscon-maps-stagecoachbus.s3.amazonaws.com/Timetables/Merseyside/Lancashire/ChorleyService109-109A-3April16.pdf

    By train
The showground is a 15-20-minute walk from Chorley train station - please note that there will be rail replacement bus services serving Chorley during the show due to engineering works.

The showground is also a 20-25-minute walk from Euxton Balshaw Lane station, which is on the Preston-Liverpool line.

You can view the timetables for both stations here.

  • The venue

Astley Park is fast becoming one of Lancashire’s best tourist attractions with over 250,000 visitors in the last year. It used to be the home of the Royal Lancashire Show in its most successful years and the jewel in the crown is the Grade I listed Astley Hall.

The beautiful surroundings of Astley Park include histcoric woodland, a lake with water fountain, the fully-renovated Walled Garden, open playing fields and a brand new children’s play area. The park links Astley Village to Chorley town centre with the town centre side of the park featuring a Sensory Garden and a stunning war memorial, which is a fitting tribute to all those who have lost their lives in conflict.

Throughout the summer the park comes alive with its floral displays, including wildflower medals, which won a special recognition as part of Chorley’s award-winning entry into Britain in Bloom 2014.

We've just been awarded Tripadvisor's 'Excellence' award again for 2015.

You can view pictures of the park here.
