Chorley Little Theatre is showing The Rise and Fall of Little Voice. OCADOS present the touching story of Laura, a girl who desperately miss her dead father, locks herself in her bedroom listening to her late father’s record collection. Soon, she is able to mimic the famous divas Judy Garland, Shirley Bassey, Dusty Springfield and more.
Her domineering mother sees Laura as a way of escaping their small Northern town for a glamourous showbiz life and enlists the help of small-time club agent Ray. They both see the girl as a ticket to the big time, but Laura just wants a normal life and to be loved. Not everyone is going to get what they want.
Chorley writer Jim Cartwright has crafted a modern fairytale of love and hope as Little Voice finally finds a voice of her own.
The show starts at 10pm and tickets from Thursday-Saturday are £10. For more information visit http://www.chorleylittletheatre.com/chorleytheatre/
