New website launches for Strawberry Fields

Excitement is building in the North West’s digital and creative sector as a new website launches revealing how you can secure a space in an ambitious £8.4 million hi-tech development being led by Chorley Council.

As construction continues at pace Strawberry Fields Digital Hub, on Euxton Lane, is now online as the borough takes its place as the centre of the rapidly growing digital sector in Lancashire.

The advanced digital office park will be unique in the North West in that it offers super-fast broadband, the ability for like-minded individuals and businesses to collaborate and grow, while having an on-site business advisor and academic advisor that can help you take a product to market.

Councillor Alistair Bradley, Leader of Chorley Council, said: “This is a hugely important development for Chorley that will put us right at the heart of the growing digital sector and create hundreds of high value jobs.

“What sets this apart from other developments is that we have the mix of hi-tech collaborative space, the fastest broadband available and an on-site business advisor and academic researcher.

“Couple that with our fantastic transport links and Chorley as a beautiful part of the country we have the perfect mix whether you are a home-working digital business looking for flexible space where you can work collaboratively with others, a SME looking to grow or a larger business that wants to be based in a creative environment.”

The development, which has been taking place over the last few months is due to open in May with lots of interest already in the space available.

The centre will offer three floors with hot-desking and pods through to small and large office spaces with meeting rooms, web conferencing rooms and training/event space, kitchen areas and more.

The council received over £4.1 million of funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) for the scheme, which independent experts estimate could generate an additional £18.5 million for the local economy.

“We’ve got several high profile developments taking place in Chorley, which are helping our borough to grow and create new jobs, and what we’re hearing from businesses is that it is a really exciting time to be a part of where the borough is heading,” said Councillor Bradley.

“We’ve got the perfect mix of a great location, a skilled workforce, beautiful parks and countryside to enjoy and with the problems people are hitting with public transport and congested roads in the major cities we are a very attractive proposition to businesses who want to collaborate, grow and invest.

“The Christmas and New Year period can be a time where people take stock and think about how they want to develop their own business, or even start up a new business, so if you are thinking along these lines it will certainly be worth taking a look at what is available.”
