THE new Mayor of Chorley will take part in the annual parade on Civic Sunday to mark the beginning of her year in office.
People are being invited to join Councillor Margaret Lees, who was appointed Mayor of Chorley at the Council’s Annual Meeting on Tuesday 15 May, for a procession through the town centre followed by a service at St Laurence’s Parish Church on Sunday 20 May.
Councillor Margaret Lees said: “This is one of the proudest occasions of the Mayoral year and I would like to invite the people of Chorley take to part in the procession and service.”
The procession will form up in St Thomas’s Road at 10.55am and leave at 11.10am. Local people and organisations are invited to join the procession to St Laurence’s Church where the service will commence at 11.30am.
