Wintry weather affects some bin collections

We struggled to access some roads for bin collections due to the freezing weather this week.
We have managed to catch up on pretty much all collections but there are a handful of streets we haven't been able to access when we've tried each day. We'll try again on Monday (4 February) to empty bins on the following streets:

Grey and blue bins

Millwood Close
Parke Mews
Lodge Bank (backs)
Larch Drive

Green bins

Trafalgar Street

If you live on these streets please take the bins in over the weekend and put them out for collection by 7am on Monday morning. The weather will hopefuly improve and we'll get them emptied.

We appreciate everyone's patience and the residents who were helping us to negotiate some of the icy roads, thank you.

Gritting

Gritting is the responsibility of Lancashire County Council and they have been working around the clock to try and keep the main routes clear - you can see full details of where they have gritted here.

It's important to remember that roads may still be slippy even where they have been gritted so please allow extra time for your journey and drive to the conditions.
