Grey bin (garden waste)

The grey bin is for your compostable garden waste which is a chargeable service.

Things that go in your grey bin:

• grass
• leaves
• flowers and plants - with the soil removed
• weeds
• twigs and small branches
• windfall fruit
• houseplants and flower cuttings
• real Christmas trees (chopped up)
• hay / straw - soiled animal bedding from non-meat eating animals only e.g. rabbits, guinea-pigs
• vegetable waste from the garden only - e.g. potato tops (not kitchen waste)

Things you cannot put in your grey bin:

• large branches and pieces of wood
• treated or painted wood
• soil and turf
• stones, rubble, hardcore, sand, grit
• cat litter and dog faeces 
• plastic bags, flower pots, trays or any other plastic items
• food or kitchen waste
• vacuum dust or fire cinders
