In 2023 we recycled:
- nearly 20,000 tonnes of household waste, which is about the same weight as 200 blue whales. 1 tonne is about the weight of a small car.
- the average amount of waste produced annually per household has fallen from 528 kg in 2020/21 to 471 kg in 2023/24.
- over 15,000 bins are emptied by us each day (Monday to Friday).
