Thank you for recycling your waste!
In 2021 we recycled:
- 21,780 tonnes of household waste, which is about the same weight as 218 blue whales. This is an increase of 635 tonnes from 2020. 1 tonne is about the weight of a small car.
- Chorley's recycling rate increased by 1.6% from 45.1% in 2020/21 to 46.7% in 2021/22.
- the average amount of waste produced annually per household fell from 528 kg in 2020/21 to 475 kg in 2021/22.
- over 15,000 bins are emptied by us each day (Monday to Friday)
