Chorley Council hosted a Great British Spring Clean, aligned with the national Keep Britain Tidy Campaign from 21 March to 6 April 2025

This year’s Chorley Spring Clean was a fantastic success, thanks to the incredible support from our local community groups, volunteers, and schools. Across the borough, residents rolled up their sleeves to help tidy parks, footpaths, and public spaces—making Chorley cleaner, greener, and safer for everyone to enjoy. From litter picking to planting, the community came together to take pride in our shared spaces and protect the environment for future generations.

As part of the campaign, we also ran a Spring Clean Poster Competition for local schools to get creative and spread the message of looking after our community and environment. We were blown away by the talent and enthusiasm of all the young artists who entered. You can view all the fantastic entries below, including our two winning designs: congratulations to the primary school winner, Bella, from St Trinity C of E/Methodist Primary and the high school winner, Destiny, from Parklands High School. The winning designs will now be shared and displayed across Chorley to support our campaign to reduce litter and keep Chorley clean.

Congratulations to all the entrants – your contributions have made a real difference. We’re proud to celebrate your hard work and commitment to making Chorley a cleaner, better place for everyone.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, supported, or helped organise the campaign—together, we’re making a difference.
