Early Years Development Grant Fund
The Early Years Development Grant Fund has been created to support residents to access high-quality, low or no-cost provision for families with babies and young children aged 0 to 5 years by providing grants to organisations dedicated to supporting the best outcomes at Early Years.
Applications open on the 7 November 2025 and will close on the 5 December 2025.
We may close the grant fund early subject to demand.

The fund aims to:
- improve school readiness and early years development outcomes
- support parent and child interaction, attachment, and confidence
- provide accessible opportunities that reduce financial barriers for families
- promote positive health and wellbeing in the early years.
We are looking to fund:
- baby and toddler groups
- sessions supporting early years development such as sensory play, music and movement, baby massage, or sign and communication.
- sessions supporting school readiness
- parenting sessions or workshops to enhance understanding of child development, play, and bonding
- peer-led or community support sessions for parents and carers
- provision that specifically enables families to access activities where cost may be a barrier.
Important information
- the funding can be used for venue hire, facilitator costs, equipment, participant resources, promotion
- funded delivery must take place between January and March 2026
- provision should preferably look to be delivered for between 8 to 12 weeks
- sessions must be free or low-cost for participants
- delivery should take place within the Chorley borough for Chorley residents
- provision must be safe, inclusive, and accessible, with clear consideration of safeguarding and equality
- where possible, providers should demonstrate links with local partners (e.g. Family Hubs, Health Visitors, or community venues).
