The benefits of being online

Having digital skills and being active online provides great opportunities and benefits.

Being online means you can:

  • search for information
  • keep in touch with friends and family
  • book cheap holidays
  • find the best energy deals 
  • access health and public services 
  • improve employability skills
  • and much more.

Digital skills training can help with:

  • using a tablet device
  • using a computer
  • online shopping
  • online banking
  • accessing health services online
  • accessing public services online
  • communicating with family online
  • staying safe online
  • qualification courses to support with employment
  • helps if you to meet new people.

We work with partner organisations and learning providers to provide free digital skills training in a safe and controlled environment. Either a class environment or 1 to 1 support.

Chorley Digital Buddies sessions

Digital Buddies is a free volunteer led service which supports people to learn how to use the internet for everyday tasks, such as:

  • keeping in touch with friends and family
  • accessing housing and benefits support
  • online shopping
  • booking doctors appointments
  • using other online services.

Primrose Gardens

Primrose Gardens, Fleet Street, Chorley, PR7 2EE

Mondays at 9.30am till 12.30pm.

Tuesdays at 2pm till 4pm.


Library sessions

These digital skills sessions run through a variety of subjects from basic computer skills to shopping online and using health apps from the GP. 

They are designed to make sure you feel comfortable and confident with computers and mobile devices.

These sessions are free and all are welcome, however booking is required and places are limited. Please email, telephone or drop into your library to book you place.
