Small society lotteries
Proceeds less than £20,000 per lottery or £250,000 in a calendar year.
The organisation running them must be registered with us.
There is no need for a Gambling Commission operating licence.

Apply for a small society lottery
To apply, download our application for a small society lottery form. Once completed, you should return the form to us by email to contact@chorley.gov.uk. Alternatively you can post it to: Licensing Team, Civic Offices, Union Street, Chorley, PR7 1AL.
Small society lottery fees
Annual fees are due within the 2 months prior to the anniversary of the registration. The fee is £20 and this amount is set by central government; we have no discretion to reduce or waive this fee. You can pay your annual licence fee online.
Lottery returns form
A return should be made not later than the end of the third month after the date of the lottery.
Please complete the return in full.
The return will be kept by us for a period of at least 18 months and any member of the public will be permitted to inspect it during office hours free of charge.
Anyone who fails to send a return in accordance with the above, or who knowingly gives false information, or who certifies any such return knowing it to contain such information, shall be guilty of an offence.
