Gathering relevant, accurate and current information

Properties that are empty and unfurnished for more than 2 years are identified by the Council Tax Team.  Separately, complaints that are dealt with by the regulatory functions on Environmental Health and Planning teams will be recorded.

We will maintain and develop the recording of data on these sources of information and shared between services. 

Complaint driven properties which do not correspond with the Council Tax data will be subject to assessment and intervention where appropriate.   
      
The accuracy of Council Tax empty homes data is systematically reviewed to ensure accuracy and teams will liaise closely to share and cross reference the data they hold. 

The public have the opportunity to notify us of empty residential properties via the Council’s website
