We’re protecting Chorley’s historic buildings for the future.

Work is already well underway to restore the west wing of Astley Hall, one of Lancashire’s most treasured heritage sites, and we are now starting work at Chorley Town Hall to preserve the building for years to come.

You may have noticed that the Town Hall clock is currently out of action. As part of a programme of upcoming works, we will be repairing the clock alongside a range of essential improvements, including window replacements, stonework repairs, repointing, and external cleaning. At the same time, work will be done to make the building more sustainable thanks to funding be secured to make the building more energy efficient.

Scaffolding will start to go up at the end of March, and any necessary footpath diversions will be put in place. The projects will ensure our historic buildings continue to take pride of place in our town for future generations.
