Last weekend saw the 2026 What’s Your Story, Chorley festival finish with a bang, with a sold-out book signing by Jodie Ounsley (Gladiator ‘Fury’ on the hit BBC show), and a brand-new Comic Con event
These events, along with dinosaur themed interactive live shows at Chorley Theatre, concluded a month-long celebration of storytelling enjoyed by hundreds of visitors.
Throughout March, visitors to the festival have enjoyed a fantastic variety of events across Chorley Town Centre and beyond, from live theatre, cinema and comedy Q&A’s at Chorley Theatre, book crafting workshops at Ebb & Flo Bookshop, free kids theatre at Chorley Library and poetry workshops, takeaway and open mic performances at Astley Hall and Chorley Markets led by professional poet Louise Fazackerley.
The development of What’s Your Story, Chorley from its previous one-day format to a month-long festival for 2026 meant a greater diversity of events covering multiple genres and audiences and, as a result, welcomed even more visitors into Chorley than before.
Events like What’s Your Story, Chorley are an important component of the current bid campaign for Chorley as Town of Culture and it is hoped they would be expanded and developed upon for the future, enhancing the cultural offer of Chorley and providing even more exciting events for people to attend.
Visitors to Chorley can still enjoy displays of the winning entries of the children’s comic strip design competition at Chorley bus station and the children’s book cover art exhibition throughout Astley Park for the duration of the Easter school holidays.
