Competition entries on display at Chorley Flower Show

From roses and rhubarb to begonias and floral art there’s something for all keen gardeners and flower enthusiasts to get involved in when it comes to Chorley Flower Show’s popular amateur competitions

As well as professional floral displays, entertainment and many other attractions, the three-day show (25 to 27 July), organised by Chorley Council, showcases a variety of entries from amateurs, providing a fun and engaging way for people to get involved, with prizes to be won!

Deputy Leader of Chorley Council, Councillor Peter Wilson said “The Chorley Flower Show is a fun filled weekend that offers something for everyone, with the fantastic displays of amateur competition entries being one of the highlights of the show.

“The competitions have grown from strength to strength over the years and we’d love to see even more people entering this year, the 10th anniversary of the show.”

Competitions that are currently open for entries:

  • Flower, Fruit and Vegetables

The Chorley & District Gardening Society provide their expertise to organise this popular competition, with 70 classes, including children’s classes to inspire the next generation of budding gardeners.
Entry forms must be received by 5pm, Thursday 17 July.

  • Begonia

The National Begonia Society will again be holding this competition, open to everyone to enter whether you are a member or not.

Entry forms must be received by 5pm, Thursday 17 July.

  • Floral Art

With open classes, beginners and children’s classes with the opportunity to create foliage arrangements, pedestal design, decorate a hat, posy design and more, this is your chance to get creative with flowers.

Entry forms must be received by midnight, Sunday 6 July.
