Applications are now open for businesses across Chorley to apply for grants offered by Chorley Council to help them to grow, improve energy efficiency and bring empty retail units back into use.

The Energy Efficiency and Road to Net Zero Grant, Business Investment Growth (BIG) Grant, and High Street Vacant Property Grant have been refreshed for 2025/26, providing funding to help businesses cut costs, invest in development, and enhance the local high street.

Last year, the council supported 145 local businesses, helped to create over 300 jobs and transform a number of vacant high street units into thriving business spaces.

The three grants available are:

  • Energy Efficiency and Road to Net Zero – Enables businesses to invest in energy efficiency measures to reduce costs and improve sustainability.
  • BIG Grant – Offers financial support for business development, innovation, and job creation.
  • High Street Vacant Property Grant – Helps to bring empty high street units back into use, improving the look and feel of the town centre and encouraging new ventures.

Deputy Executive Leader of Chorley Council and Cabinet Member for Resources, Councillor Peter Wilson, said: “We’re committed to supporting local businesses and ensuring Chorley’s economy continues to thrive.

“We want the best for our businesses, and these grants are a fantastic opportunity to help businesses adapt, grow, and invest in their future.

“It’s all about making it happen in Chorley, boosting our local economy, creating more jobs and a vibrant town centre for everyone.

“We encourage businesses to apply early and take advantage of the funding available.”
