Theatre in the Park

You’ll never be bored with the fantastic range of family friendly events and attractions to enjoy across Chorley.

With an array of amazing attractions, events and activities happening in the borough, Chorley has the best of Lancashire all in one place. Here are a few ideas to help you decide how to spend a day (or two!).

Don’t miss free Fun Thursdays every week until 28 August at Market Walk in the town centre - enjoy a variety of well-loved characters and glitter tattoos from Lancashire Ice Queens, laughter with Louby Lou the Clown and dino baby puppets story time from Candyhouse!

Over at Astley Hall and Park this summer, you’ll find a great variety of ways to spend a summer day out:

Teddy Bear Tales story time sessions in Astley Hall take place every Saturday 10am to 11am throughout August, during which you can follow a fun trail finding all the hidden teddy bears as you travel around the rooms! Tickets are now available to purchase online, or visitors can pay on the day for their sessions. See astleypark.co.uk/events for more information.

Theatre in the Park will return for two brilliant outdoor performances:
On Sunday 31 August Quantum Theatre bring their wonderful adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s ‘Alice Through the Looking Glass’ to the Walled Garden, followed by the return of the popular ‘Last Night of the Proms’ concert on Saturday 6 September by Outreach Opera accompanied by the Bolton Hoover Band.

During August, Astley Hall will be open for extended visiting hours 11am to 4pm, on Wednesdays, Saturday and Sundays. See astleypark.co.uk/hall for admission details.

Deputy Leader of Chorley Council, Councillor Peter Wilson said: “Across the borough there are so many ways to spend a great day, whether you’re looking for active fun with outdoor adventures and thrills, or indoor escapes, there are so many attractions and activities, plus fantastic events to keep the whole family entertained this summer and beyond.”
