The beloved Chorley visitor attraction Astley Hall, Coach House and Park is a finalist in the ‘Small Visitor Attraction’ category at the prestigious, county-wide awards.
Marketing Lancashire, the local visitor economy partnership for the county, this week announced finalists in 18 categories for the 2026 event, with more announcements in the events and unsung hero award categories to come. The annual awards celebrate the best of Lancashire tourism covering accommodation, food and drink, cultural, heritage, hospitality businesses and more.
Councillor Peter Wilson, Deputy Leader of Chorley Council, said,
“It’s wonderful to see the recognition of Astley Hall, Coach House and Park in the Lancashire Tourism Awards alongside a host of fantastic Lancashire businesses, including two others from Chorley.
“Our commitment to continued investment in the preservation of this valuable Chorley Council asset means that it can continue to be enjoyed by visitors from near and far for generations to come.”
Visitors to Astley Hall, Coach House and Park can enjoy a full and varied day out including discovering history in the Astley Hall heritage museum, taking in exhibitions from both local and travelling artists, enjoying delicious food and a spot of shopping in onsite businesses Café Ambio, Barrica in the Park and the Astley Museum Shop and exploring just over 100 acres of beautiful green park space, walled garden and woodland walks.
After playing host to the 10th Annual Chorley Flower Show in July, Astley continues to impress, providing a series of wonderful activities and events throughout the rest of the summer and beyond. More information can be found at www.astleypark.co.uk/events
Councillor Wilson continued, “Chorley really does have the best of Lancashire all in one place. With a fantastic asset such as Astley right in the middle of the town centre surrounded by an array of things to do and see for all the family, it’s no wonder we are being recognised in this way.
“If you’ve never been to Astley, or if it’s been a while, I encourage you to come along for a great day out.”
Now confirmed on the shortlist, Astley Hall, Coach House and Park will face a judging process including mystery shopping, unannounced visits and interviews with an independent panel of judges.
The awards ceremony will take place in February 2026. Winners of several categories, including the Small Visitor Attraction award, will then have the chance to represent the county at the Visit England Awards for Excellence.
