Ice skaters at Chorley's Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland will return to Chorley town centre for the festive period with real ice rink, children’s attractions and festive tipi bar for visitors to enjoy.

Located opposite Chorley Town Hall, the popular attraction back for its 9th year, will run from Saturday 13 December until Sunday 4 January (except Christmas Day) and is sponsored by Park Hall Hotel and Spa, and Market Walk.

Councillor Peter Wilson, Deputy Leader of Chorley Council said: “Winter Wonderland attracts thousands of people every year, who not only enjoy the festive attractions it has to offer, but visit the fabulous shops, restaurants, bars and more, in the town centre.

“Visitors can enjoy a festive day out in Chorley – visit Winter Wonderland, do a bit of shopping have something to eat, family fun, we’ve got it all!”

The 60ft x 40ft covered ice rink will offer general skating sessions for £8 per person or a family ticket (2 adults, 2 children) for £25.

Whether visitors want to warm up with a delicious hot chocolate after visiting the ice rink, or just have a few drinks with friends, the fabulously festive tipis will also be back at Winter Wonderland. Plus, there’ll be pizzas, cooked in the onsite pizza oven, available to order on selected days/times (see Festive Tipi opening hours at checkoutchorley.com/winterwonderland).

Winter Wonderland is easy to access, with extended free parking periods from 8 December to 24 December (inc.) – get 3 hours free on council-run town centre car parks (except Flat Iron car park which is 2 hours free – max stay) - a  time of arrival ticket is required. More information can be found at: chorley.gov.uk/freechristmasparking. The attraction is also just a stone’s throw from the town’s bus and train stations.

To make way for the Winter Wonderland, a section of Cleveland Street car park will be closed until around 7 January. Alternative car parks can be found at: chorley.gov.uk/carparks.
