How to become a Warm Space

We are inviting local groups and organisations to enhance their weekly activity to support our residents through the current cost of living challenges by becoming a Warm Space again this winter.

To become a Warm Space you must simply sign our Warm Spaces Charter 23/24 and enhance the activity you currently run to meet the requirements of the Charter.

In summary you will be required to:

  • Have regular weekly activity that lasts at least 2 hours
  • Offer free entry
  • Provide either free refreshments and/or meal or free access to household essential items (such as sanitary products, childcare essentials, hygiene products)
  • Provide free access to device charging points and Wi Fi
  • Provide signposting into additional cost of living and health and wellbeing support
  • There are also some simple monitoring requirements that you will be required to submit

Each Welcome Space will be eligible for a grant of £500.

For more information, please see the Welcome Spaces Charter.

To enquire further about becoming a Welcome Space, including receiving a Welcome Spaces Charter for your group or organisation to sign, please contact communities@chorley.gov.uk

Funding will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, with consideration for a broad range of activity that meets the diverse needs of communities across the borough.
