Evidence base documents are reports and studies that inform the development of the Local Plan.  

In addition there are national documents such as the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and the National Planning Practice Guidance.

Monitoring documents

Authority Monitoring Report 23/24 provides an important source of information for assessing whether policy aims and objectives are being achieved, by monitoring and reporting against a broad range of indicators covering environmental, economic and social information. Both Central Lancashire Core Strategy 2012-2026 and Chorley Local Plan 2012-2026 include a monitoring framework, and the AMR systematically reviews all the indicators from these monitoring frameworks. This Authority Monitoring Report covers the period from April 2023 to March 2024.

Central Lancashire Core Strategy Monitoring Report 2020-2023 monitors the performance indicators of the Central Lancashire Core Strategy. This Central Lancashire Core Strategy Monitoring Report covers the period from April 2023 to March 2024.

Housing Land Monitoring Report 2024 has been prepared to show housebuilding trends in the Borough, including data on completions and the supply of land for residential development. This reports on housing completions for the period 1st April 2023 to 31st March 2024 and the housing land supply position at 31st March 2024.

5 Year Housing Supply Statement 2024 covers the five year period 1st April 2024 – 31st March 2029. It sets out the housing requirement for the five year period and assesses the land supply available to deliver the requirement.

Employment Land Monitoring Report 2024 identifies land within Chorley which is considered to be appropriate or available for employment use at 1st April 2024. The report monitors planning consents and development constructed for employment use.

Brownfield Land Register 

We are required to maintain a register of previously developed (brownfield) land. The brownfield register is updated annually and contains a list of brownfield sites which are considered suitable for residential development. View brownfield land register information on our mapping system.
