You can appeal against the refusal of a planning application if either:
- you disagree with it
- the decision was not made within 8 weeks (13 weeks for a major development, such as 10 or more dwellings or a building of more than 1,000 square meters)
- you can also appeal against any conditions that have been imposed on a planning permission.
Planning appeals are dealt with by the Planning Inspectorate, which is independent of the council. There are strict deadlines within which an appeal must be made. More information about the process of making an appeal can be found on the Planning Portal website.
