Play area improvements
Hurst Brook Play Area in Coppull - A brand-new play area is coming soon, with the design shaped by public consultation and including accessible equipment for all, with a focus on children aged one to 10 years. The improvements will include durable, fenced play equipment for younger children, new wet pour safety surfacing for a cleaner, all-year-round play space, improved landscaping and natural drainage, and a larger bin and new bench outside the play area as requested by users. Work began on 15 June and design visuals can be viewed online at https://sutcliffeplay.co.uk/projects/hurst-brook-chorley/, and we look forward to delivering a safe and welcoming space for the community to enjoy.
Abbey Village - This play area will feature accessible play equipment for children aged one to 12 years and works are due to begin from 20 July.
The Cherries in Euxton - Designed for children aged one to six years and works will start from 3 August.
The schemes have been shaped by public consultation to ensure they meet the needs of local families. The works have been scheduled to minimise disruption while allowing for safe delivery and installation and are expected to take around four to six weeks to complete. We appreciate your patience and thank everyone who shared their ideas to help shape these exciting developments.

Safety of play areas is important to us. We check our play areas regularly.
Please keep in mind, that our play areas are unsupervised. Parents/guardians are required to supervise their children at all times.
Dogs are not allowed in our play areas, except guide dogs.
