In 2022 we recycled:
- over 20,000 tonnes of household waste, which is about the same weight as 200 blue whales. 1 tonne is about the weight of a small car.
- Chorley's recycling rate increased from 45.1% in 2020/21 to 46.0% in 2022/23.
- the average amount of waste produced annually per household fell from 528 kg in 2020/21 to 475 kg in 2021/22, and down to 445 kg in 2022/23.
- over 15,000 bins are emptied by us each day (Monday to Friday)
