We are responsible for sweeping all adopted roads and pavements within the borough.

We sweep the main roads on an 8 week schedule; the town centre 3 weekly and all the remaining roads are swept on a 13 weekly schedule. If you see a road or pavement that needs sweeping, then please report it to us.

Regular sweeping schedules are suspended throughout autumn so that the sweepers can concentrate on removing leaf fall.

Back alleys

We are not responsible for sweeping back alleys, this generally rests with the homeowners of which the back alley provides access. We can support volunteering community clean-up of back alleys. View more information on volunteering.
