Welcome Spaces

Recognising the value of the Warm Spaces programme delivered over the winter months, we are working alongside local groups and organisations to deliver a Welcome Spaces programme over the summer months, to provide some extra support with cost of living challenges.

Welcome Spaces will offer:

- A free meal, or

- Free access to household essential items (such as hygiene and sanitary products, cleaning products, baby and toddler products, energy saving items), and

- Free digital device charging points and Wi Fi

- Signposting into additional cost of living and health and wellbeing support

-A friendly and welcoming space

Below is a list of all the current Welcome Spaces - please check this list often as Welcome Spaces may be added. If you would like more information please contact the Communities team by telephone on 01257 515151 or by email to communities@chorley.gov.uk

Becoming a Welcome Space

We are inviting local groups and organisations to enhance their weekly activity to support our residents through the current cost of living challenges by becoming a Welcome Space.

To become a Welcome Space you must simply sign our Welcome Spaces Charter 2023 and enhance the activity you currently run to meet the requirements of the Charter.

In summary you will be required to:

- Have regular weekly activity that lasts at least 2 hours

- Be free at the point of access

- Provide either a free meal or free access to household essential items (such as sanitary products, childcare essentials, hygiene products)

- Provide free access to device charging points and Wi Fi

- Provide signposting into additional cost of living support

There are also some simple monitoring requirements that you will be required to submit.

Each Welcome Space will be eligible for a grant of £500.

For more information please see the Welcome Spaces Charter:  Welcome Spaces Charter 2023 (PDF) [79KB]
