Code club for young people

We believe it is important for young people to be encouraged and supported to use technology. It is estimated that 90% of jobs in the future with have a digital element, we believe upskilling young people will help with future employment opportunities.

Code Club is a fantastic global organisation that provides opportunities for young people to develop digital skills.

Code Club believes like us that all children should have the opportunity to learn to code, no matter who they are or where they come from. They work with a global community of volunteers, educators, and partners to run free coding clubs where 9 to 13-year-olds build and share their ideas.

They believe in learning through making, and their coding projects offer young people plenty of opportunities to be creative and to share their creations with each other.

Code Club is part of the Raspberry Pi Foundation, a UK-based charity.

For more information visit the code club website.

Code clubs in schools

We encourage local primary and secondary schools to start up a code club either at lunch time or after school. We can provide support to help get the club set up. Please email getonline@chorley.gov.uk if you are interested and would like some help.
