Data Source
- Each year the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) produces an estimate of carbon dioxide emissions at a local authority and regional level. These statistics provide the most reliable and consistent breakdown of CO2 emissions across the country, using nationally available datasets.
- The data covers estimated emissions for the period between 2005 and 2019. This is due to a two-year time lag between publishing figures.
- The raw data is published on the UK Government website: carbon dioxide emissions national statistics.
