Have your say on proposed Public Protection Orders for Chorley Town Centre

Residents, businesses and visitors are being asked to have their say on plans to introduce a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) for Chorley Town Centre.

A Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) is a tool available to Councils under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 and are intended to be used to deal with a particular nuisance or problem in a specific area that is having a detrimental effect to the local community’s quality of life, by imposing conditions on the use of that area which apply to everyone

Chorley Council carried out a consultation earlier this year and, following a review of the feedback, is proposing new measures to strengthen the order and support officers in addressing key issues such as town centre safety.
