Housing advice and support
We can provide help and advice if you are experiencing problems with your housing situation or if you are looking for a new home to rent or buy in Chorley.
We can provide support with:
- accessing social housing
- accessing private sector housing
- finding suitable supported accommodation
- affordable housing.
Requesting support and advice with housing
If you would like to speak with a member of our team, please contact us by telephoning 01257 515151 and asking to speak to the Housing Solutions team or by sending an email to housing.solutions@chorley.gov.uk to book an appointment. We aim to respond to emails as quickly as possible but recommend a telephone call if you require an urgent response.
Before we can help, we will need to check you are eligible for our help. When you email us you will need to provide 1 of the following forms of ID:
- current passport
- full driver's license
- birth certificate
- identification card
- national insurance number
- benefit letter
- wage slip
- EU Settlement Scheme letter
- valid visa.
Please attach a copy of 1 of the above when you email us.
Please note, if you are offered an appointment for a homeless assessment, you will need to bring ID along with any other of the above information that is relevant for yourself and all members of your household to your appointment.

If you have already been made homeless or are threatened with homelessness in the next 56 days, then you should contact us directly on 01257 515151 or email housing.solutions@chorley.gov.uk.
