Upcoming closures of Cleveland Street car park

Update - 1 November 2024

Site investigation works will continue in a limited section of Cleveland Streeet car park (the larger side) until Tuesday 5 November, however, the car park will remain open for use.

Following a successful bid for once in a generation funding of £20m from the UK Government, we’re pleased to have appointed a design team to progress proposals to transform areas of Chorley town centre. To help progress the designs it will be necessary to undertake some site investigation works and as a result there’ll be some upcoming closures of Cleveland Street car park:

  • the smaller southern section of the car park (accessed via Cleveland Street) will be closed from Monday 28 to Wednesday 30 October and expected to reopen on Thursday 31 October.
  • the larger northern section of the car park (accessed via Union Street) will be closed from Wednesday 30 October to Friday 1 November.
  • all of Cleveland Street car park will be closed on Wednesday 30 October

To accommodate the future town centre improvement works on this site, the electric vehicle chargers on Cleveland Street car park will be decommissioned on 21 October. Alternative EV chargers can be found on the Flat Iron car park and in order to ensure reliability of these and to allow as many people to use them as possible, they will be replaced and a small charge introduced in the near future.
