Purpose
The purpose of the tree policy is to set out the councils risk based approach to the inspection and maintenance of trees on council owned land.
The councils duty of care requires that safety measures should be applied where this can reasonably be expected. The tree policy contains the councils risk management inspection and maintenance procedure and enables the council to show it has undertaken all reasonable measures to ensure the safety of trees on council owned land.
