Volunteer Chairperson

Qualifications, skills, knowledge or experience required

We want a volunteer who:

  • is passionate about Dementia and supporting people living with Dementia
  • can establish positive relationships with local organisations, residents, and members of the charter
  • ability to lead meetings
  • ability to build professional relationships
  • able to meet the needs of people living with Dementia
  • are creative, enthusiastic, confident and resilient.

Key duties and responsibilities

We are looking for a positive, engaging, and driven person to lead our group in progressing Chorley to become a totally Dementia Friendly Borough. The Chorley Dementia Action Group's foundation is a coalition of local organisations who strive to improve the support and opportunities for people in Chorley living with Dementia. The role's key duties are to steer the group through planned activities, action plans and continue its mission of further improving the local area for our target audience. 

Activities include

The main activities involved is chairing the monthly meeting, control agreed actions and lead any steering groups or agreed future plans, attend and support the monthly Dementia Hub.

Time commitment

On-going commitment

1 monthly meeting and 1 monthly dementia hub (each 1 hour long)

Continued ongoign actions agreed during meetings (time varied based on agreed actions)

Volunteer Social Media Manager

Qualifications, skills, knowledge or experience required

We want a volunteer who:

  • is passionate about Dementia and supporting people living with Dementia
  • is passionate about social media 
  • preferable understanding of Facebook and other social media streams
  • able to meet the needs of people living with Dementia
  • are creative, enthusiastic, confident and resilient.

Key duties and responsibilities

We are looking for a positive, engaging, and driven person to lead our group's social media accounts. Currently, the group has a Facebook page but is looking for a volunteer that could help imrpoved the social media engagement, expand their platforms and help them to reach a further audience.

Activities include

The main activities involved are controlling the social media platforms for the group, engaging with group members for constant content and opportunity sharing
