Liability and insurance
- To the fullest extent permitted by law the council shall not be liable for:
- any loss or damage to property of the Hirer or their guests
- any inconvenience or loss caused to any party as a result of cancellation or termination.
- The hirer is to take good care of and not cause any damage to the centre or to any of the fittings equipment or other property in the centre and save to the extent that the council may be indemnified by insurance the council will make good but the hirer will pay for damage or loss caused by act or neglect by any person for whom the hirer is responsible or associated or any person the hirer allows to access the centre with or without their permission.
- Appropriate insurance cover should be obtained by the hirer to indemnify the council against claims which may be made against it in respect of loss or damage which the council may suffer. Such insurance should also cover injury to person and loss of property.
- The hirer is recommended in advance to check that their personal insurance adequately covers the losses set out in these terms.
